“Audio Cinematic” closes Elzhi’s 2008 Europass album. I hate Sting with a passion, but this beat works really well as the soundscape to Elzhi’s storytelling. Elzhi’s intricate rhymes and quick wit allow him to fit a full-movie script into six minutes.

I kid you not: Elzhi is one of the top lyricists around and only getting better (watch Elzhi break down the science of “pattern rapping”. It’s incredible.). He took over J Dilla’s rapping duties in Slum Village several years back but obviously didn’t stop improving his wordsmithery. He should be dropping a proper solo-album this summer. Pay attention: Elzhi is What’s Up in 2008.
